Florence at Christmas

by Rebecca Bricker on December 7, 2011

On a walk around Florence tonight with a friend, we stopped for a moment to look at a Christmas tree in a little piazza. The tree was a bit scrawny and the strands of lights weren’t exactly carefully strung. In fact, they looked more flung than strung.

The tree wasn’t dazzling or majestic. But it was a heartwarming sight on a nippy night.

As we wandered down ancient narrow streets, under lighted garlands of snowflakes and shooting stars, I couldn’t help but feel the magic of the season…

Maybe my Christmas spirit is residing in Italy. I hadn’t thought of that. It’s been gone so long. Thanks for the window.

Another little taste of Italy through your eyes Rebecca..there’s magic even in the “more flung than strung” Christmas lights. Thanks for inviting along on your ongoing journey!
